Medical research organisations, the NHS, patient groups, public health organisations and the pharmaceutical industry have formed an alliance to guard their shared interests ahead of the formal Brexit negotiations.
The NHS Confederation announced the formation of the Brexit Health Alliance—to ensure that issues such as healthcare research, access to technologies and treatment of patients are given the prominence and attention they deserve in the Brexit negotiations—on 14 June.
The alliance will be co-chaired by Hugh Taylor, the former permanent secretary of the Department of Health who chaired the recent Accelerated Access Review, and Niall Dickson, the chief executive of the NHS Confederation.
