The general secretary of the University and College Union, Sally Hunt, has been elected president of the TUC, which represents more than 50 trade unions.
Hunt has led UCU for the past decade, and already represents the union on the TUC’s general council.
Previously, she was general secretary of the Association of University Teachers, and has also worked at the Accord financial trade union and Nationwide Group Staff Union.
