EU staff face salary-related visa process, say media reports

Medium-skilled migrants, including those from Europe, will need to have been offered a job in the UK that pays at least £30,000 in order to be granted a work visa, according to media reports.

Under the plans, reported by The Sunday Times on 16 December, “medium-skilled” migrants will be allowed to work in the UK if they have a job paying at least £30,000.

Migrants with skills needed in the UK will be granted visas on a lower salary, the newspaper reported. There will be no cap on highly skilled migrants from anywhere in the world, it said.
