Greg Clark seeks UK lead in AI ‘revolution’

The government has continued its push for more artificial intelligence research, with a new report adding to attempts to position UK as a major player in the rapidly growing field.

A report for the business department by the consultancy KPMG released on 5 September outlines three areas to help AI flourish in Britain. This includes the creation of a strong regulatory framework to reassure the public about the use of their data, and the use of AI within the NHS to unlock “a world-leading healthcare AI industry”.

In the foreword to How the UK Can Win The AI Race report, business secretary Greg Clark hails a “revolution” in AI technology.
