LSE professor to chair the committee until 2020 to complete future immigration system review

The government has extended the term of the chair of its Migration Advisory Committee to allow him to complete evaluation of the salary threshold for skilled workers—a highly controversial topic in research.

Alan Manning, a professor at the London School of Economics, who began his three-year term in October 2016, will continue in his role until January 2020, the committee said on 11 November.
