Conservative plan for first 100 days leaves out R&D

Omission echoes absence of research discussion in party leaders’ pre-election debates

Research does not get a mention in the Conservatives’ plan for the first 100 days of government if they win the general election on 12 December.

The plan released on 5 December includes a pledge to deliver Brexit by 22 March, and a post-Brexit budget in February. It also includes passing laws for a new points-based immigration system but does not mention research schemes that the party has committed to implementing.
