Academics take to the streets to demand second referendum on Brexit

But there is little indication that the government is hearing the pleas of researchers

As parliament prepared for last-minute votes that seem likely to delay the UK’s planned departure from the European Union, researchers descended on central London to make their voices heard in the campaign against Brexit.

Academics waving banners including “Brexit hurts research” were among the one million people that organisers of a push for a second referendum say joined their protest on 23 March.
