Plans to tighten laws on the use of non-disclosure agreements will provide much-needed relief for researchers in a murky area, a policy expert has said.
Under proposed legislation, victims of harassment and discrimination who have signed confidentiality agreements will be free to report allegations to the police.
Victims will also have access to independent legal advice on the limitations of such agreements under the proposed measures, announced by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on 4 March.
