Revoke Article 50, says group of leading scientists

A number of prominent scientists have called for Article 50 to be revoked, joining more than 3 million others who have signed a parliamentary petition asking for the UK to remain in the European Union.

The calls come as EU leaders offered the UK a delay on Brexit until 22 May if prime minister Theresa May’s deal is approved by parliament next week. If May’s deal is rejected for the third time, the EU will move the official exit date to 12 April.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to descend on central London on 23 March calling for a people’s vote. The Put it to the People March wants any final Brexit deal to be put to the public before it is accepted.
