Yellowhammer and research—the worst-case scenario

As the government releases its worst-case Brexit scenario, we ask what researchers might expect if things go badly wrong in the UK’s departure from the European Union.

The government’s document planning for the worst-case Brexit scenario, released on 11 September, warns of medicine and fresh food shortages, price hikes and border delays.

The Operation Yellowhammer planning document assumes that in the worst case, the relationship between the UK and the EU will become “unsympathetic” and individual member states will become “unwilling to engage bilaterally”.
