Call comes amid decrease in overall civil departmental R&D spending
The Campaign for Science and Engineering has called on the government to boost R&D spending across all departments to improve science capability.
The comments come amid talk of a shake-up of the civil service and ahead of a budget expected to significantly boost R&D funding in the UK.
