Learned societies advising on new immigration system

Sector leaders talking with government advisors as calls made for greater transparency on science visas

Learned societies are in discussion with government policymakers to advise on the creation of a new immigration system to attract researchers to the UK after Brexit.

Plans for a three-tier visa system for exceptional talent were outlined by Boris Johnson at the end of last year as part of a manifesto pledge to ensure researchers from outside the UK can continue to seek employment in the UK without delay.
