Johnson’s New Year’s message pledges to make UK ‘best place on earth for cutting-edge science’
The government will get Brexit done by the end of January and then “finally spend 2020 getting on with delivering on the people’s priorities” such as “renewing schools” and “backing scientists”, according to the prime minister.
“We will transform this country’s approach to science and research, making the UK an engine for the ideas of the future,” Boris Johnson said in his New Year’s message published on 31 December.
