Solloway described her appointment to BEIS as ‘a privilege and a great responsibility’
Derby North MP Amanda Solloway has talked up the UK’s science base, after her appointment to government in what looks to be a research brief severed from responsibility for universities.
Solloway was appointed parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on 14 February, but on 17 February both BEIS and Number 10 would not confirm Solloway’s exact role.
