Amanda Solloway is science minister at BEIS, with universities brief going to DfE’s Michelle Donelan
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has finally confirmed that science and universities briefs have been split during the recent government reshuffle, with science going to BEIS and universities to the Department for Education.
The confirmation on 19 February comes nearly a week after the science and universities minister Chris Skidmore was sacked by Boris Johnson. Although it was previously reported, including by Research Professional News, that Amanda Solloway (pictured, left) would be taking up the science brief, both BEIS and Number 10 had refused to confirm this until now.
