Government invests £900,000 in research to ‘future proof’ roads

Projects include an AI-powered app to detect potholes in real time

The government has announced a £900,000 investment in research projects aimed at creating a better transport system.

The Transport-Technology Research Innovation Grants will fund scientists, innovators, academics and tech startups to research new ways to “future proof” the UK’s roads, the Department for Transport announced on 28 February.
