Report finds public sector organisations are not ‘sufficiently transparent about their use of AI’
An ethics watchdog has criticised the UK government’s failure to keep its citizens informed about the use of AI in the public sector.
The report was published by the independent Committee on Standards in Public Life as part of its review into AI and its impact on standards across the public sector. It warns that government and other public institutions are “not sufficiently transparent about their use of AI and it is difficult to find out where machine learning is currently being used in government”.
