Labour scientists back Keir Starmer for leader

Starmer received just over half of the votes cast by Scientists for Labour members

Labour scientists have overwhelmingly backed Keir Starmer as the next leader of the Labour Party.

Holborn and St Pancras MP Starmer, who is currently shadow secretary of state for exiting the European Union and frontrunner in the contest, received 81 votes—just over half of the 158 votes cast by members of the Scientists for Labour campaign group.
