State-school educated Donelan has called UK’s skills gap a ‘ticking time bomb’
Chippenham MP Michelle Donelan has been named the universities minister in prime minister Boris Johnson’s reshuffle that seems to have split science and universities and that got rid of the previous minister, Chris Skidmore.
Reacting to her appointment at the Department of Education, Donelan, who only entered frontline politics five years ago, tweeted she was “absolutely honoured and thrilled to be promoted”.
