Universities ‘failing’ to provide skills for fintech sector

Government-commissioned review finds UK is at pivotal moment in financial technologies but lacking relevant skills

Universities have “failed to adapt their services” to meet the demands of the UK’s growing fintech sector, a government-commissioned review has found.

According to the independent review, led by the British entrepreneur Ron Kalifa, the UK is at a “pivotal moment” to support the growth of innovation in the financial technology sector, which is worth more than £11 billion a year to the UK economy.
