Nation ‘unlikely’ to meet 2027 goal of spending 2.4 per cent of GDP on R&D
The Higher Education Policy Institute has published a blog post warning that the UK is unlikely to hit the government’s target of spending 2.4 per cent of GDP on R&D by 2027.
This follows former universities and science minister Chris Skidmore’s remarks in the House of Commons on 8 March that “there are now just 2,135 days until we reach that 2027 target date. If we are not careful, we will miss the target altogether.”
