Life sciences goals ‘need investment’

             

Charities and businesses say government must deliver on existing pledges for latest vision to succeed

The research sector has welcomed the government’s 10-year life sciences strategy but called for further investment to back the plan’s lofty aims.

The Life Sciences Vision unveiled last week aims to build on the UK’s scientific successes during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a focus on seven healthcare missions: vaccines, dementia, cancer, cardiovascular problems, respiratory disease, ageing and mental health.
