Government urges ‘better utilisation’ of public R&D bodies

   

UK’s Office for Science publishes new guidance for evaluating Public Sector Research Establishments

The Government Office for Science has told departments to demonstrate the value and impact of the research bodies they fund to the taxpayer, and to “think critically about how they could be better utilised”.

The move is aimed at improving the ability of Public Sector Research Establishments to raise the government’s science capability, as recommended in the 2019 Science Capability Review by Go-Science.
