Civil servants seconded to £800 million agency during initial startup phase, Research Professional News understands
The government’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency has found a temporary home at the Alan Turing Institute as a team of civil servants works to get the £800 million funder off the ground, Research Professional News can reveal.
The funder for “high-risk, high-payoff research”, inspired by the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, has been the subject of much speculation since it was first promised in the Conservative Party’s 2019 manifesto.
