Ex-science minister George Freeman calls for innovation-led economy amid “massive structural economic crisis”

The science community should forget last year’s Comprehensive Spending Review happened and redouble its efforts to make the case for R&D investment, ex-science minister George Freeman has said.

Speaking at a Conservative Party fringe event on the UK’s innovation strategy, hosted by the University of Birmingham, Freeman said the UK was facing a “massive structural economic crisis”.
