Power station in Nottinghamshire selected as site for nation’s prototype nuclear fusion energy plant

The UK government has announced the site of its first fusion energy plant, expected to be built in the country by 2040.

The Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production plant, known as Step, will be built at the West Burton power station in Nottinghamshire, according to the business department and the UK’s Atomic Energy Authority.
