Chris Skidmore to dedicate career to “greatest challenge” of helping government meet its 2050 target

Former universities and science minister Chris Skidmore has announced his decision to stand down as an MP at the next general election to focus on the government’s net-zero commitment.

Writing on Twitter on 26 November, the Kingswood MP said that planned parliamentary boundary changes would result in his constituency ceasing to exist.
