Organisations welcome recognition of R&D and education, but call for more detail and clarity
The UK government has published its long-awaited Levelling Up White Paper, outlining plans that it hopes will spread opportunity more equally across the UK. Science, technology and education are central to the proposals.
The paper, from Michael Gove’s Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, pledges to spend more R&D funding outside the south-east region—including medial research, to help alleviate regional inequalities.
