GCRF and Newton projects get final £24m to ‘close with impact’

          

Money will also “support pilot activity” for UK government’s “new unified global R&D partnership fund”

The government has granted an additional £23.7 million for two flagship research funds that were affected by deep cuts to international aid spending last year.

Many projects funded via the Global Challenges Research Fund and the Newton Fund saw their annual budgets slashed by 70 per cent last year, leading to redundancies and lasting damage to international partnerships.
