Whitehall officials fear money designated for UK’s Horizon Europe association or alternatives could be reallocated

Whitehall science officials are concerned that the Treasury could “claw back” money allocated to UK association to Horizon Europe or its alternatives, Research Professional News has learned.

Political disputes over the Northern Ireland protocol have held up UK association to the European Union’s €95.5 billion (£80.5bn) R&D programme, leaving UK-based grant winners unable to receive funding from the EU.
