“Stellar” appointments raise hopes that new agency will add momentum to UK’s R&D investments
The research sector has welcomed the “stellar” appointments of Ilan Gur as CEO and Matt Clifford as chair of the government’s £800 million Advanced Research and Invention Agency.
Gur is the founder and former CEO of the innovation non-profit Activate and a former programme director for Arpa-E, the US Department of Energy’s agency for funding breakthrough innovations in energy technology.
