“Very real risk” association to programme or its replacement could fall through, warns former adviser

Policy experts fear the current political crisis could further stall the UK’s troubled efforts to associate to Horizon Europe or put in place a back-up plan to the €95.5 billion (£80.5bn) EU programme.

Prime minister Boris Johnson said on 7 July that he would step down as prime minister following a flurry of ministerial resignations, including the former science minister George Freeman and former education secretary Michelle Donelan.
