Concern over ‘omission’ of REF and Researchfish from Adam Tickell’s review

Policy experts have welcomed the publication of Adam Tickell’s government-commissioned review of research bureaucracy but warned that prominent gaps remain.

In the review, published on 28 July, University of Birmingham vice-chancellor Tickell recommended implementing a less burdensome two-stage application process, creating a more streamlined approach to assurance, and putting an end to unfair application deadlines.
