Government expected to make raft of policy announcements following pause due the Queen’s death
Policy-watchers across R&D and higher education are awaiting pivotal developments following a 10-day delay as the nation and the new UK government mourned the death of the Queen.
An official mourning period meant nearly all government business, including many key research policy announcements and meetings, was put on hold. This included the appointment of science and universities ministers by the new prime minister Liz Truss, and consulting with the EU on access to the Horizon Europe research programme.
