Still no sign of science minister as UK’s new PM appoints her cabinet
Newly elected prime minister Liz Truss has appointed Jacob Rees-Mogg as business secretary and Kit Malthouse as education minister.
As business secretary, Rees-Mogg (pictured, left), who was previously minister of state for Brexit opportunities and government efficiency, will have overall responsibility for research and innovation and climate change policy. He replaces Kwasi Kwarteng, who has been appointed chancellor.
