Science minister suggests details of domestic alternative to EU programmes could be unveiled in March
The UK science minister has said that the nation’s alternative plan for spending money ringfenced for European R&D programmes—the so-called ‘plan B’—is being signed off by prime minister Rishi Sunak.
The comment comes as the EU has been blocking UK membership of its R&D programmes for two years due to unresolved post-Brexit trade negotiations, prompting work on UK alternatives and release of some funds to mitigate the impact of delays.
