Party conference hears pledges of “real boost” for science and 10-year R&D settlements
Labour leader Keir Starmer has promised stability for researchers and innovators in his party conference speech, while shadow science secretary Peter Kyle said a Labour government would commit to 10-year R&D funding settlements to give the sector more certainty.
Starmer (pictured centre) outlined Labour’s plan to grow the economy, promising “long-term stability for researchers, investors, innovators” and a “real boost for life sciences”. He also hailed “possibility in technology” and “innovations like gene editing that will save countless lives”.
