
Academics shocked at treatment of equality advisory board, with some resigning from funder’s bodies
Scores of academics have lambasted UK Research and Innovation for its response to a letter from the science secretary about posts on the Israel-Hamas conflict, with several quitting their work as peer reviewers or advisers to the funder.
In her response to Michelle Donelan, UKRI’s chief executive Ottoline Leyser said she was “deeply concerned” about the posts on X written by two UKRI advisory board members, which the science secretary had highlighted.
