Public wants politicians to prioritise R&D funding, poll finds

Most survey respondents said they also want more support for UK research into new medicines

Almost two-thirds of people think funding research should be a high priority for political parties in the UK, according to new polling data.

As parties gear up to develop manifestos for the upcoming general election, the Campaign for Science and Engineering’s Ben Bleasdale said the new data shows that “a majority of the public view funding R&D as a political priority”.
