UK ‘should change’ spending mix between research and innovation

Science minister Andrew Griffith says change is needed to achieve science and technology superpower ambition

The UK may need to change how it divides spending between pure research and innovation, the new science minister has said.

The government aims to increase R&D spending by £5 billion to £20 billion per year by 2024-25.
