UK government R&D spending dropped by £803m in 2021-22

                                    

While spending excluding EU R&D budget contributions stagnated at £14 billion, ONS data reveal

The UK government’s spending on R&D decreased by £803 million—from £15.3bn in 2020-21 to £14.5bn in 2021-22, new data from the Office for National Statistics has revealed.

This is a drop of around 5.3 per cent, the ONS notes.
