The Department of Science, Innovation and Technology has launched a secondment scheme to bring the “best and brightest” from academia and industry into Whitehall.
The Expert Exchange scheme will see a number of mid-career academics and engineers in areas such as AI and quantum undertake placements of up to nine months in policy teams at the nascent department.
