UK government unveils £14.6bn plan B for Horizon Europe

              

‘Pioneer’ backup programme to focus on four pillars: talent, innovation, global collaboration and infrastructure

The UK government has unveiled the blueprint for a £14.6 billion programme over seven years to replace Horizon Europe if association proves unsuccessful.

Association to the bloc’s €95.5 billion (£84bn) R&D programme, together with participation in the nuclear research initiative Euratom and Earth-observation programme Copernicus, have been stalled for two years due to an impasse over trade in Northern Ireland.
