R&D sector sets out expectations for a Labour government

Labour has “significant opportunity” to think afresh on building stronger connections between research and policymaking

Senior figures from the research sector have set out their hopes and expectations for Labour’s R&D policy as the party holds on firmly to its position as favourite to win the next general election.

Shadow science minister Chi Onwurah and key documents from the party have offered some clues as to the direction that Labour’s R&D policy will take. But the precise details are still not clear and the sector is growing more eager to find out what it will entail as pollsters are predicting Keir Starmer will become the next prime minister.
