UK has lost out on hundreds of ERC grants amid Horizon delays

European Research Council data reveal 337 terminated grants to UK winners, while 41 left country

The UK has lost out on hosting almost 400 prestigious European Research Council grants in the past couple of years as a result of delayed association to the EU’s R&D programme, Horizon Europe, Research Professional News can reveal.

The news came as the ERC this week launched a call for its 2024 ERC Starting Grants, which offer up to €1.5 million over five years to promising early career researchers.
