Conservative conference: science minister George Freeman says skills shortage "keeps me awake at night”

The UK will not become a science and technology superpower behind a “visa wall”, science minister George Freeman has said, as he voiced fears about skills shortages and immigration policy.

Speaking during a Conservative Party conference fringe event on 2 October, George Freeman said the UK has a “proven track record because of the quality of our research and our culture of attracting young scientists and researchers who want to come here”.
