George Freeman eyes comeback as science committee chair

Ex-science minister hints he is working cross-party, having quit partly due to financial woes

George Freeman is hoping to chair the House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Select Committee after the upcoming general election.

The former science minister resigned his post in November as part of a cabinet reshuffle, having held the brief under the governments of both Rishi Sunak and Boris Johnson.
