Labour’s Kerry McCarthy urges UK institutions receiving industry research funds to look for alternative sources

The shadow climate minister has urged UK universities receiving funding from fossil fuel companies to look for “alternative forms of sponsorship”.

Universities have come under pressure from environmental campaigners and student groups who argue that research collaborations with the fossil fuel industry are not compatible with institutional commitments on climate change.
