Uncertainty over fate of £9.2m intended for regional universities

                        

Scottish and Welsh governments yet to distribute funding as deadline looms

There is growing uncertainty over the fate of £9.2 million intended for universities in Scotland and Wales that is yet to be delivered by devolved governments.

The money was part of a £60 million Regional Innovation Fund announced by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology in October last year, set up to direct extra funding to universities in areas with lower levels of R&D investment.
