Michelle Donelan is facing calls for an inquiry into why taxpayers appear to be footing the bill for damages the science secretary has agreed to pay an academic.
Yesterday it emerged that a libel complaint had been lodged against Donelan following accusations the minister made about the views of some members of an equality, diversity and inclusion advisory panel appointed at the national funder UK Research and Innovation.
